The Zbruch River is a total of 247 km long with a drainage basin area of 3,300 square kilometers. This river may be found in Western Ukraine. It is a left tributary of the river Dniester which flows in Eastern Europe. The Zbruch River runs within the historic region of Podolia Upland.

Zbruch is actually the namesake of the idol Zbruch. This idol is a sculpture of a 10th century Slavic deity which is in the shape of a column which has a head and four faces. This idol was found in the year 1848 by the river.

Between the years 1772 and 1807, and also between the years 1815 and 1918 the Zbruch River was deemed a border between the Imperial Russia on one bank and Austrian Galicia on the other.
