Shrimp, regardless of how it is prepared, is very high in cholesterol. However, it also has good fats and oils that can actually help lower the bad half of your cholesterol. One serving of shrimp is equal to two-thirds of the daily limit for cholesterol, but if you're lowering your intake of cholesterol overall, an occasional indulgence of six to twelve shrimp (not fried!) is okay.

Not only shrimp, but all shellfish, are high in cholesterol.
