Answer Question

The legendary origin of tea began in China over 5,000 years ago. Some of the early places that discovered tea were Assam, state of India, Northern Myanmar and eastern and southern China. The sinensis variants were found in southeastern and eastern regions of China.

The first to discover tea was, Shen Nong, also known as Yan Di or Shen Nong Shi in 2737 BC. He was the second of the three Chinese Emperors of the San Huang Period. It so happened that one summer day while he was on his way to meet a distant relative, he stopped by to take some rest. It was this time when his servant began to boil water in order to drink. Some leaves from the nearby bush fell into the boiling water. The taste however, seemed very refreshing for him. It was this time when he discovered the refreshing tea.

In 222AD, the Chinese first mentioned tea as a substitute for wine. It was introduced in the sixth century in Japan and later spread across Europe and America.
