Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Always remember that measuring tapes always come in different styles, and for different purposes like measuring rooms, big areas, etc. Measuring tapes also come in many different materials like the soft ones, which are often used by dress makers to measure hem.

Generally most measuring have identical unit of measure on top as well as on the bottom. In the normal system nearly all the full-sized measuring tapes, inches are distributed into 1/16 fraction. Every line signifies 1/16 of an inch beginning from the first one following any specified number or the start of the tape.

There are always five line lengths, and generally the 1/16 one is the shortest and the 1/8 inch is longer in comparison to 1/16 inch line. The long lines which cross the whole one inch width of the tape are known as inch markers. Every second line that comes is 1/8 of an inch and every fourth line is ΒΌ of and inch.
