    The 1970 FIFA World Cup was won by Brazil who beat Italy 4-1. This was Brazil's third win and they were allowed to keep the Jules Rimet cup for being the first to achieve this excellent track record. The legendary Brazilian player Pele was competing in his fourth and final World Cup. Goals were scored by Pele, Gerson, Jairzinho and Carlos Alberto. The tournament was controversial for being held at altitude in Mexico City which made it more than usually physically demanding fro many players. Despite this many football fans claim the final was one of the best games every seen in World Cup competition.

      In the year of 1970, Rugby League World Cup was held in England and in this World Cup All Countries lost two matches each accept Australia and, in this way, Australia qualified for the final largely on the back of an impressive tally of points against New Zealand.

      The World cup Final was played at Headingley between Australia and England, the great city of England and, after a thrilling competition; Australia become the unexpected champions by showing their class.
