Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The term reformation is a noun that usually refers to the act of reforming. It may also mean the state of being reformed. The term Reformation on the other hand is typically associated with the 16th-century movement that took place in Western Europe aiming at changing some of the doctrines and practices followed by the Roman Catholic Church. It led to the founding of the different Protestant churches.

Thus, in the general sense of the term it may be used to mean improvement (or an improvement that is intended) in the form or condition of (practices or institutions for example) that are existing. It could mean an intention to make arresting changes with the goal of betterment in political, social or religious affairs.

The adjective form of the same is the term reformational.
