Skegness is in Lincolnshire, England. It is a seaside resort town and is under the administration of East Lindsey District Council. Skegness has a population of approximately about 16,806 residents. It has a Danish name and it is supposed to have been derived from a hypothetical Viking called Skeggi. It is claimed that he was responsible for the settlement of people in this place. It was a fishing and small port previously but now it is has progressed and has its own railway line passing through it. It came in the top slot in a survey about the best retirement places in Britain. The survey was conducted by "Yours" magazine in March 2005. It is a thriving business centre in Lincolnshire. It is also famous for its nightlife.
