Easter Sunday, which is also called the Sunday of the Resurrection or even or Resurrection Day, will always falls on a particular Sunday, somewhere between March 22 and April 25 inclusive as per Western Christianity. According to Eastern Christianity on the other hand, Easter will come somewhere between April 4 and May 8 (based on the Gregorian date) between 1900 and 1970.

Thus Easter along with the holidays occurring that are associated with it are moveable feasts. Calculations involved for fixing the date of Easter every year are somewhat long drawn and complicated.

The term Easter also applies to a whole season of the church year, which stretches for fifty days, right from Easter Sunday all through Pentecost.
