Are The Symptoms I've Described Below Related To Any Diseases Or Viruses That Dogs Get? Can I Give My Dog An Over-the-counter Treatment To Help Her.

My dog, a 3-year old shipoo female started having diarrhea (runny, clear, a little blood). She was dry heaving and all that came up was a couple of small spots of foamy, milky substance. She ate Pedigree beef (combined soft and soft) for breakfast earlier and ate a small amount of dry dog food for dinner. She's drinking water. She's not her usual peppy self and she doesn't seem really ill but I have observed her closely and I feel there is something wrong.

Well it seems that your dog is suffering from acute diarrhea. The reason might a viral, bacterial or parasitic infection. Dogs usually catch diarrhea, and it can last for a few days. Its a way to clear the dog's digestive tract from harmful parasites. You should give him bland diet. A diet which is free of fats. Give him boiled chicken and white rice. Also add yogurt to his diet. Keep him hydrated and he will feel fine soon. But if the diarrhea persists, take him to vet for blood test and proper diagnosis.

My vet tells me to keep my dogs food wet or dry not both because it can cause them to get upset stomach. Hope this helps.
