No it isn't too late. There are many mature students at universities. If you are already in a job, then you could do the degree alongside it. If you do this, then you will be a part-time student. It can take up to seven years for a part-time student to complete. Normal degrees usually take three years.
If you have spent quite a long time going out to work, and you don't want to go out to do your degree, then there is the option of open university, where you study the degree from home and attend lectures only once or twice a year.
You don't need as many qualifications to get into university if you are a mature students. Usually, the requirements are A Level qualifications but you don't need necessarily need to worry about this if you are a mature student.

It's never too late to take a degree. there are a high proportion of matures students in the UK so you'll be in good company.
Going to university as a mature student has many advantages. Mature students tend to contribute alot in terms of experience in tutorial groups.
it can seem intimidating getting back into the methods needed for essay writing and training yourself to study again but it's a great chance to study something that you've always wanted to do.
I know of one gentleman who did his PhD in his 80's, he'd been too busy up until then!
As one who has been a mature student for years..I highly recommend that you give it a go.
The Open University is a great way of studying but there's alot of advantages in going to university as you meet other people and can share some of the fun and worries connected to your work. most young students are great to be with even if they do think that mature students are from the Ark!
Very best of luck if you decide to take up your studies again.
