You are supposed to receive COBRA benefits info within 30 days after termination. Your employer will pay zero. You will pay 300% to 600% of the premium you had been paying. You will no be able to afford COBRA on unemployment. Obama has a plan for reduced COBRA costs if on unemployment, but you better have a big nest egg if you want to take advantage.
