    March 17 is celebrated as St.Patrick's day, falling during the season of Lent according to the Christian faith. St.Patrick's day is the feast day of Saint Patrick who lived during the period 386-493, and is considered to be the Patron Saint of Ireland. St.Patrick's day is celebrated mainly by Irish nationals and also Catholics across the world.

    In the traditional Irish celebration of St. Patrick's Day, the theme of celebrations is centred on everything green and Irish. People usually wear green traditional clothes, eat traditional Irish food and attend St. Patrick's day parades.

    St. Patrick was the patron saint for Ireland and he is also called the national apostle of the country. St. Patrick is also the one who brought Christianity to Ireland.

    St. Patrick's Day is celebrated during the period of Lent, and according to the Church Calendar, whenever the day falls on a Sunday, it is moved over to the next Monday. St. Patrick's day is now celebrated to showcase the culture and heritage of Ireland.
