No, if you want to get fit, you are gong to need to take part in some form of exercise, one way or another. Whether that is jogging to work or the shops or whatever, or cycling to work or going for a nice long cycle after work, you will need to engage in some form of exercise.
I too was not a big fan of exercise, my creaking joints and over loaded frame hated the idea of more pain, but through non impact exercises such as stretching, yoga and the cross trainer in the gym, my body has changed shape and believe it or not, I am starting to enjoy exercising. This has been made easier with the help of a professional personal exercise trainer. I would advise one just for motivational factor.
At the end of the day, if you can find some way to exercise that you enjoy, that's the key for you
