In my country we are not able to get the biometric passport, i recently got mine out but it is not biometric. Do I need a visa?

You can travel to USA on certain passports. I don't know which passport you have. The details of the passports are as follows;
1-Passport model "85" is not valid for travel without a visa.
2-Passport model "03", if issued before October 26, 2006 is valid for VWP (visa waiver program).
3-Passport model "06" is valid to travel on VWP.
4-Swiss Emergency/Diplomatic/Service passports are valid to travel on VWP.
