It is always better to use medicated shampoos in this condition. There are lye tar shampoos, which play soothing role in this condition. If it does not help, then use selenium sulfide or benzyl peroxide shampoos. There is another effective shampoo known as Benzyl peroxide. It is very helpful in eliminating secondary bacterial infections. Always use shampoos with soap less soaps. Regular weekly bath should be given but sometimes dogs do no bear it and their skin becomes dry due to weekly bath. In this case skin conditioning is a perfect remedy along with regular bath.

American bulls are prone to allergies and you may need to have a test done. I've been to 6 vets for mine and finally took him to columbus ohio and had him tested .he has many allergies due to close breeding. He was a rescue,i had to have a serum made.and he can take claritin ,and an antibiotic
