I get there simply by clicking on my username, and it takes me to my site,(profile). Scroll down if you have to, there you will find the accept or remove buttons.
Click accept if you want a friend. Then this person will appear in your friends list. You can talk to them through your shout boxes. If you want to talk to your new friend, then click on their name and wait until their profile comes up. Scroll all the way down to the bottom, where you'll find the shout box, type in your message, and click send when you are done. Hope this helps. Welcome.

 There you would find the friend's request. You will see to options with it. Accept or Deny. If you would accept then the friend will be in your friend's list and if you click on deny then you are refusing his/her request of friendship.
