PDA or Personal Digital assistant is nothing but types of palm top computers. They are used as organizers and for other versatile tasks. A PDA can be used for functions similar to that of a computer. One can use them as calculators, as clocks or calendars, for playing games, video recording, accessing the internet, word processing etc. These PDA devices normally come equipped with a touch screen as well.

PDA systems that had limited keypads employed a touch screen keypad that allowed data to be entered by typing on the screen. A PDA can be connected to other similar devices, computers and other electronic devices that were equipped with an IrDA port. Newer versions of PDA come equipped with USB ports as well which can provide access to recording hardware and flash memory disks.
