Is There A Legal Percentage A Landlord Can Charge In Late Fees?
I have never been late in paying rent until last month. My landlord is charging me 50% of my rent in late fees. Is that normal or even legal?

Read your lease agreement. It is stated clearly in your agreement that if you are late in paying the fee then you will be charged that must amount. If your landlord is taking higher then you can deny to pay the excessive amount.

It is not normal or legal; it is a practice call "usury". This page discusses how your fees are clearly in the usury range: www.expertlaw.com

You may want to call Legal Aid if he threatens to evict you, you could well end up owning the property. Best of luck.
