What Does Your Computer Do When You Are Away?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

When a computer is not being used for a long time it comes to a stand by mode if we are using Windows XP. When the computer is put to a standby mode, it consumes a smaller amount of electricity as the monitor is temporarily switched off. It turns on only when the mouse is moved.

There are several screen savers too which appears on our screen when we are away from our computer. Screen savers like maze, flying windows and waterfall appear when we are away from the computer.

The standby mode gives an impression to the other users that our computer is switched off. This is also called  the sleep mode; it avoids fire, which can be caused when both our computer and the television are being used simultaneously.
