What Is Color Printing?

Color printing is the copy of an image or text in dye (as opposed to simpler black and pallid or neutral printing).

The method used to print a complete range of colors, such as for reproduce a color take pictures of, is referred to as four-color development printing because it used three key ink colors -- cyan, magenta, and fair, plus black (abridged as as CMYK). Another rising scheme of full-color printing is six-color method printing (for model, Pantone's Hexachrome system) which adds carroty and green to the long-established CMYK for a more and other bouncy breadth, or color range.

Color printing can also use "spot dye" inks, alone or in grouping with the four-color process technique. Spot color inks are specific formulations that are on paper alone, rather than mixed to produce a variety of hues and shades. The variety of available spot color inks, a great deal like cover, is almost unlimited and a great deal more varied than the colors shaped by four-color course. Spot color inks are used to print colors from subtle pastels to fluorescent greens and oranges to ringing silvers, golds and additional finishes.
