What Are The Dis/advantages Of Manufacturing An A-brand To Be Sold At Retailer's Own Brand?

A Retailer's own brand is the brand given by a supermarket for certain products sold at the supermarket. Usually the names of the brands are the same with the name of the supermarket, e.g. Aldi sugars, Aldi milk, etc. What are the dis/advantages for a producer/manufacturer to produce the products sold under the retailer's own brand?

I guess they could be DEPENDENT on the retailer and all the while they DID not DEVELOP their own "name for themselves" so when the RETAILER goes "under", if they do... Then the MANUFACTURER is sort of left "high and dry"... Having to find another retailer can be an issue... And not having a MARKETABLE PRODUCT in it's own right can be all part of the PROBLEM...
