David Blaine is an American stunt performer and illusionist. He was born in Brooklyn, New York City, USA on April 4th, 1973.

David Blaine started off his career in magic with street performances, and later had a camera crew record all his feats in the street. These recordings became the foundation for his television specials that made him famous across the world.

David Blaine was engaged in magic from a very tender age, abundantly encouraged by his mother, Patrice White, who later succumbed to ovarian cancer. Blain, despite the loss of his mother, started performing his magic tricks at the city neighbourhood, named Hell's Kitchen.

Brooklyn, where David Blaine was born is one of the boroughs in New York City. Brooklyn was consolidated with New York in the year 1898, until which it remained an independent city. Of the five boroughs in New York City, Brooklyn is the most populous with about 2.5 million inhabitants.
