Compared to most North American airlines, BA offers a good selection of movies, television shows, games and audio channels as part of its in-flight entertainment package. Evening flights from North America usually begin with a 30 minute-long BBC News broadcast. This is followed by a choice of eight films, shown on personal screens located at each seat.

In May, these films included "Eragon," "Notes on a Scandal," "Hollywoodland," "The Last King of Scotland," "Night at the Museum," "Dreamgirls," "The Pick of Destiny," and "The Incredibles." These film represent a variety of genres, including action, drama, thrillers, comedies, as well as family movies.

BA also offers a relatively good selection of audio channels as well, and free headsets are distributed to all passengers. There are 16 audio channels in total on long haul flights, including a comedy channel, BBC concerts, BBC classical performances, a cultural and literary channel and a number of stations devoted to various genres of music.
