How Do I Change The Settings So That My Computer Does Not Shut Down When I Close It?

    Right mouse click on your desktop, go for properties. On the screensaver tab there is a power button. This should give you the option to stay on etc. When you close the lid.

      If your computer which i assume is a lapotop has WINDOWS vista or xp as  Operating System in that case all you need to do is go to start>>control panel >>power options and from there you have to use the options accordingly..  Where you get the option choose  what you would like the computer to do when you close the lid or press the power switch etc. You get a drop down box choose any option other than shut down and that will be it
