What Are Two Types Of Mechanical Energy?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

    There are two types of mechanical energy including kinetic energy and potential energy. Kinetic energy is the form of mechanical energy which a body gets because of its motion and velocity. The formula of kinetic energy is as follows:

    K.E = mv2/2

    This formula shows that a body of mass, m which moves with a velocity, v has kinetic energy equal to mv2/2. On the other hand, second form of energy is potential energy which is hold by a body because of its motion. Its formula is as follows:

    P.E = mgh

    This formula shows that a body of mass, m placed at a height, h from its main position has potential energy equal to mgh.
