The Cat Detective was written by Vicky Halls who is an Animal Behaviourist and Counsellor whose area of expertise is cats. The Cat Detective was published in 2005 and aims to give owners some clues about feline behaviour and act as a detective to find out why our little furry 'friends' actually cause their owners grief.
This is the second book published by Ms Halls, the first being Cat Confidential. Originally Ms Halls trained as a Veterinary Nurse and then specialised in cat behaviour. She now operates a private 'cat counselling' service for owners who have 'naughty cats' or very scared and timid cats.
All cats referred to cat counsellors in the Ukk should be referred by a vet, to ensure that the practice is regulated as opposed to being a free for all with amateurs setting themselves up as animal counsellors. Also, any self respecting counsellor will not treat an animal unless a vet has referred it.
