What Are Two Differences Between Active And Passive Transport?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Active transport is the movement of particles against the concentration gradient while passive transport is the movement of particles towards the concentration gradient. The second difference is that active transport requires energy for the movement of particles from the concentration of lower gradient to the concentration of higher gradient while in passive transport, energy is not requirement and there is an automatic movement of particles from higher to lower gradient. For example, when air moves from warmer to colder region then it is passive transport but if inverse happens then it is active transport of air.
