If you are specifically concerned about watering the newly potted plants from the mother plant, it is important that you keep them dry in their new pots for a week or so. And before transplanting them keep them in sunlight for a day or two. As for watering the regular Aloe Vera, do it only when the top inch of the pot soil is dry, as they dont need much water.

I've been growing Aloes for years and I only water once every 5 weeks. I use about a 1/2 cup for a 4" pot and 3/4 cup for an 8" pot.
I use plant food three times per year and I always water all of my plants with tepid water.
When I transplant Aloe's I use a damp medium and then I water as above on my regular schedule. They're very easy to propagate.
