How Do I Care For A Bamboo Plant?

I have a bamboo plant in a vase with water, and some of the stalk leaves are turning yellow. How do I start new bamboo shoots from the plant I have, where do I cut the stalks at? Thank you

It is important that the bamboos should be kept in clean water all the time. Their leaves turn yellow in the spring season and then new leaves grow out but if there is yellowing other than that, it might be because either the bamboos are getting too much of direct sunlight or the water has chlorine or other chemicals in it. You should keep them away from direct sunlight and use water which is filtered and natural. Another thing you can do is to keep the tap water in a container for several hours before watering the bamboos.

If you want to start a new plant from the one you have, you can easily do so by cutting the stalk just below its joint with a sharp knife. Put it in clean fresh water and new buds would start growing soon.
