This is up to you. If you are a freelancer, then you are your own boss. Therefore, it is up to you how many hours you put into your work. In some ways, if you have a family and don't live alone, it will be too difficult to follow the same hours as a full-time job, because there will be too many distractions.

Also, you can never be sure how much work you will have from one week to the next as a freelancer. For some weeks, you may not receive enough work to be working full-time hours. On the other hand, you may get a whole load of work which means that you have to work possibly more hours than you would in a normal full-time job.

Set yourself the amount of hours that you are comfortable with. Don't overwork yourself. Always take breaks so that you have the chance to do other things.

Freelance work can be very isolating, so always remember to fit in social activities. Socialising is something that you can do in a full-time job, as you work with other people, so if you do wish to work the same amount of hours as in a full-time job then fit in socialising. This is important as a job will seem more more depressing if you are working completely alone for full-time hours.
