Do Horses Hunt Or Gather Food?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Horses, like deer, bison, and cows, are grazers.  They simply walk to where the food is and chomp away at the grass until it is gone, then move on.  Being herbivores, they would not hunt for any kind of prey.

Wild horses don't "nest" and what I mean is, they don't bed down in the same place week after week, month after month.  They would not be able to gather food and create a stockpile.

Is there a horse farm near where you live?  It would be cool if you could have the opportunity to visit.  Horses are very interesting animals.

    Have a nice day!
