Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Given below are the lyrics for the song Believe (reprise) from the musical The Scarlet Pimpernel directed by Peter H. Hunt and composed by Frank Wildhom. It was based on the bestseller of the same name by Baroness Orczy which was set in the French Revolution.

However, more recent productions of the play betray a somewhat varied sequence of incidents from the Broadway production, even though the fundamental plot is the same.

Recordings that can be accessed comprise of the 1992 concept album, starring Chuck Wagner in the main role and the other cast comprised of Linda Eder and Dave Clemmons.

As roses bend through breeze, unbend me
As the rose bends to the sun
And in the darkness, please defend me
Two in love become as one
As waves lean on the sea, my love come lean on me
    I do believe in you.
