    Fetus does not take food like us because fetus live in the uterus and his all systems are under developed. Fetus needs energy that is obtained from the mother. Fetus gets food from dissolved nutrients in the blood of the mother. Blood of mother carries all essential nutrients and fetus get this blood supply through umbilical cord.
