    2L+2W=14
    Dividing both sides by 2 you will get

    L+W =7
    As W=L-3
    so put the value of W in L+W you will get

    L+ (L-3) =7
    2L =7+3
    2L=10
    L=5
    W = L-3
    W= 5-3
    =2

    Width of rectangle is 2
