What Does Pathology Mean?

The word pathology can be used as a noun and you can use the term for the scientific study of a disease. The following sentence can make the meaning of the term quite clear as it is used in the context: If you think that you have caught a disease you should get a pathology done as it is the only way you can determine the reason for your disease. In the above-mentioned sentence the person is suggesting somebody to get his disease tested so that the exact reason of the problem can be determined and accordingly a medicine can be prescribed.  
       
Sometimes the word is also used to describe about the behaviour of a person which is considered as unreasonable but even the person has no control over his own behaviour.
