What Is The Best Way To Introduce A Cat Into A House With A Dog?

Introductions between cats and dogs can be tricky depending on the breeds and behaviors of each.  If your dog is obedient you can try putting him on the leash and letting the cat in the same room with him.  Watch your dog and make sure he does not try to hurt the cat with sudden movements and vice versa.  Reward your dog for good behavior.  If your dog is a little less obedient try swapping scents between the two first.  Keep your cat isolated in a different room but maybe put one of your dog's toys that has been slobbered on in the room with the cat.  If you have a bed for your cat you can put that in the room with your dog.  Let them get acquainted with the scents and then try introducing them remembering to praise for good behavior.
