    The current Prime Minister of United Kingdom is James Gordon Brown. He is from the British Labour Party and assumed the office of the Prime Minister on 27 June, 2007 after Tony Blair resigned.

    He was serving as the Chancellor of Exchequer in the Labor government from 1997 to 2007 under the government of Tony Blair. He is quiet well educated and has a PhD in history from the University of Edinburgh. He used to work as a TV journalist at one point in time. However, he has been a member of Parliament since 1983.
