I Just Discovered A Dime Sized Raised Lump On My Hamster. It Is Blue/purple And Doesn't Seem To Bother Him At All When It Is Touched. It Looks Bad, What Can It Be And What Should I Do??

Can a vet tell me what this is? Do they even treat hamsters?

Where is the lump at on your hamster. When i was a teen i had a hamster who had a lump that started by his eye and it got worse it was like a tumor i guess. I don't know if vets can do anything but if they can look at it i would try taking it 2 1.

Yes a vet can definitely tell you what it really is after its thorough examination. Hamsters are prone to getting different types of cancer. If the lump is fast growing then is threatening to its life but if it is growing with slow pace then it is not that dangerous. One of its symptoms is that it starts losing hair or showing change in its behavior. Well all the lumps are not necessarily cancerous. These lumps are hard and painful under the skin. They can be caused by a bite or wound from a fight. Your vet will drain it and give it antibiotic treatment.
