What Is The Population Of Kendal?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Kendal is a town in Cumbria in the UK and has a population of 27,000.  It is situated right on the edge of the Lake District National Park, and is visited by thousands of tourists each year as it's often regarded as being part of the Lake District National Park itself.  It's railway station connects to the West Coast Main Line via Oxenholme and the town is about 6 miles from the M6 motorway.

Kendal is probably most well know today for Kendal Mint Cake, which was discovered by accident by Joseph Wiper when he took his eye off what he was actually making (glacier mint).  The result is churned out by the van load from a factory in the town itself.
