Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Wood is used for making different things which we use in our daily life like paper, furniture, pencils and even some ingredients which are used in food like in cheeses, sweets and ice cream. Most of these wood supplies are made up of trees that exist in very old rainforests. Rainforest is classified into 4 main categories namely: Mahogany, teak, melina and okoume.

Mahogony is found in South American regions. Mahogony wood is very strong and durable, used to make furniture and boats. Melina, Okoume and Teak woods are found in India/Asian regions. As compared to mahogany, it is less durable but is mostly used in boats, cabinets and flooring. Okoume is used to make plywood and the inner joints of furniture, while Melina is used to make paper, matches and other woodwork.
