How Do You Tie An Ascot?

You can tie an Ascot Knot, associated with racing and Classic Hollywood fashion, using the following technique: first, take the Ascot, a combination of tie and scarf, and pull around the back of the neck, leaving the left side to hang slightly lower than the right. Then, wrap the left end one and a half times over the right, and push the end through the neck loop until it emerges from the top. The top flap should be the only visible part of the ascot, with the other ends tucked into a shirt, and fastened with pins if necessary. Ascots are traditionally combined with tuxedos or other formal types of dress as a gesture of individuality, and can be coloured in dramatic contrast to the underlying clothes for maximum effect.
