    The primary occupation of Mali is agriculture which is dependent on rainfall. The average rainfall is different in various regions ranging from 0.5 per year in the area of Mopti to 1.4 in the area of south near Sikasso. These areas are vital for the production of cotton, rice, millet, and maize.

    Officially known as the Republic of Mali it is a thickly populated country in Western Africa. Mali is the second largest country after Nigeria amid the West African countries.

    It shares its land borders with Algeria towards the north, Nigeria on the east, Burkina Faso and Cote d'ivorie on the south, Guinea on the south-west, and Senegal and Mauritania toward the west. The capital of Mali is Bamako. Mali is the twenty forth largest countries in the world.
