The smell, when I was a child my fondest memories are sitting on my Papa's porch watching it rain.

Definitely the smell. When you live in a country that sees little precipitation, then when you do get it, it's something to feel good about.

I like the rain. I live in the UK so we get plenty of it!
I like the smell, the freshness and sometimes the feel of it, though not the sort that seeps into clothes and makes you feel damp and miserable.
The smell of the plants and grass after a fall of rain is lovely. Sometimes if you're warm and cosy at night the rain makes you feel lucky to be well housed and warm but then the guilt sets in for those who are not so lucky. I feel sorry for those who don't have shelter, are out at sea in bad conditions and for all the animals out in the rain.
The downside of the rain is the damage it does and the flooding caused by heavy downpours.
Overall I like the rain and am very glad to live in a climate that has adequate rainfall and never severe droughts as rain is so important for survival.

I like it because it waters all my plants. This is very useful. If there was no rain all the plants would die.I also like the way rain can make beautiful rainbows appear in the sky.And I love to jump in large puddles and skip rocks through them.

I exactly cannot tell you what you like about the rain, but here are some of the things that I like about the rain which you might like it too. Maybe, you like the rain but you do not know why you do like it. I will tell you why. Rains generally come after a hot season. Due to the hot season, people get all fired up and need to cool down. Rain helps in cooling the atmosphere and keeping the temperature lower. When the mud gets wet during the rains, it produces an amazing smell which cleanses your body, soul and mind. During rains, many schools and workplaces remain closed and you can enjoy at home. You might want to try playing the guitar or sipping on coffee while staring at the rain. It feels fantastic.

Ahhhhhhh! I am so happy to read the responses to this question. I grew up and am now living back in Washington state!! The rain is awesome. I love it because, it waters the plants, trees, grass, bushes....it provides drinking water for all the animals, it provides drinking water for humans and now days, filters the air!! Rain is the best weather condition that I know of. Think of it; you won't get skin cancer, you won't overheat and end up in the hospital from heat exhaustion, your face won't get chapped, you won't get frozen toes, fingers or ears, you will not have to go to the hospital for hypothermia............... the list goes on!!! If you are like I am, count yourself a very happy, lucky person. Peace!
