 It would be more correct to ask..."Who dreamed of boomerangs?" The answer is lost to antiquity as they along with spear throwers have been used since the end of the last ice age (paleolithic) by the aboriginals of Australia. I don't think that the aboriginals believe in "invention". They believe that they dream all things that they need before they ever receive them from the spirits.
