    International Monetary Fund (IMF) is an International Organization. This organization is responsible to oversee the global financial system in the light of macroeconomic policies followed in the member countries. IMF usually considers those economic policies of the member states which have a significant impact on the exchange rates and the balance of payments. IMF is also responsible to stabilize the international exchange rates and it also tries to bring development in member states. IMF is considered as the International Lender of Last Resort by providing financial and technical assistance to member states. Therefore, the main purpose of IMF is to provide economic stability and assistance to member states. Moreover, the headquarters of IMF are located in Washington DC, USA.
