What Century Was The American Revolution?

The American Revolution happened towards the end of the 18th Century. It was basically a political upheaval that led to independence of United States from British Rule. This conflict included armed fighting between the forces of both sides and continued from 1775 to 1783.

This revolution basically came from Intellectual and social shift of the people towards Republicanism. The original 13 colonies rejected the role of the British Government. They formed self-governing and independent states beyond the control of British Monarchy.

They were then involved in the Revolutionary war against the British Raj. They got independence after seven years of war in October 1781. This victory was recognized by British Monarchy in the year 1783.
