Why Does American Television Never Show The Positive And Good Life Of African Soil?

Is that because Americans equate material wealth with happiness? And there's not a lot of material wealth in Africa?
A while back Jamie Oliver (British TV Celebrity chef) led a campaign about terrible quality of school meals. He made the direct comparison to a poor community in Africa, where a lot of children shared just fried cabbage with salt for lunch; Oliver pointed out that the African children had less material goods (one teacher to dozens of pupils, a rickety roof for a school room, poor toilet facilities) -- but they did have much better "school" meals than the British school children, and in many ways, a more relaxed happier way of life.
So some TV does show the "good" things of Africa. Certainly lots of African pride programmes will, too. The problem is that at the moment Africa is also facing horrendous challenges: war, famine, disease. The inequality of this situation, compared to western wealth, has been called "a scar on the conscience of the world" (especially the most developed countries, who contributed much to the history of many of Africa's current social problems). It would be irresponsible to NOT show that these problems exist. We don't need to worry about fixing the good things in Africa, we may want to consider ourselves responsible for trying to fix the problems, though. Showing them may be the only way to get people motivated to try to help change things.

Every country has its own civilization, culture and traditions. In the world standards of living are different in different countries. Developed countries enjoy different standard of life that is full of good facilities of life, like high standard of shelter, good diet, best working conditions either in offices or in business centres, best recreational resorts and many other things.
Developing countries enjoy half of the facilities as compare to developed countries. Under developed and less developed countries are deprived of all the above-mentioned facilities and leisure's of life.
So far African countries are concerned, they come in the category of under developed countries. If we compare America with African countries, there is a hell of difference. American television reflects the habits and general behavior of American people. They don't like to see or lead such a miserable and rough life as African people are going through. As American people are enjoying good facilities and leading a very prosperous life, they can't even dream to have the opposite side of it.
In my opinion only good programs, which fulfil the desires and liking of American people, are shown on the television and American television is hesitant to show programs of African soil though they may be about the positive an good life of African soil.
