My Momma Cat Is Hurt, What Can I Do To Make Her Feel Better?

Well she goes out every now and then she went out and got in an ugly cat fight the other cat tore a chunk out of her tail at the base. It was worse than it is now it is trying to dry out. Should i bandage it up or leave it open so far it doesn't look infected. She has lost her fur about 2 in around the wound

I would just leave the wound alone since it seems to be drying out. She has her own way of making it heel. If you see that with the drying out it's getting infected then put triple antibiotics on it. She will lick it off just about every time you put it on but that will just help her to get it clean and uninfected

The main thing with animal wounds to prevent them from licking and scratching at them.  Also if infected they need antibiotics.  Cat fight wounds often become contaminated and infected.  The teeth and nails can inject bacteria under the skin leading the infection.  I would have your cat examined by a veterinarian.  They will help your cat get appropriate treatment and pain medication.  Only bandage the wound if your cat is licking it.
