What Happened To Barcelona During The Industrial Revolution?

The industrial revolution brought great changes in Barcelona and many industries were introduced during that revolution. And also, it is the site of the first industrial revolution of Spain. The state of Catalonia in which Barcelona was situated, was permitted to be in trade with America and the fortune of the region got a substantial boost. The industries based on cork, wine and iron were also developed here during the revolution.

The industrial bourgeoisie that had come up because of the industrial revolution, supported the movements of the architects and artists, and it was because of their support, the city was able to become quite famous the world over. One of the most famous artists of the era was Antony Gaudi whose was known for his works like Sagrada Familia, La Pedrera or Mila House.
