Great question. I recently received an email from a friend which will go beyond a simple answer for you. The shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117. The longest chapter is Psalm 119. The center chapter is Psalm 118. There are 594 chapters before Psalm 118 and 594 chapters after Psalm 118. That adds up to 1188 chapters.
